Frank Joseph Riemer, 83, of Whitehall, died Feb. 27, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
He and his wife Theresa (Franz) Riemer were married more than 59 years.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Studney) Riemer.
He operated Riemer's Economy Grocery Store, Chew Street, with his father for more than 20 years, and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Whitehall.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army and served in Germany after World War II.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fogelsville, and the former St. James Lutheran Church, Allentown.
He was a member of Fullerton Fire Association, American Legion of Fullerton, National Association of Letter Carriers, MS Society and a longtime member of the now defunct Allegmeiner and Hari Gari Lodge.
His hobbies included bowling, golfing, and being a New York Yankees fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Frances Julia Riemer of Flagstaff, Ariz., Carla R., wife of Keith Malantonio of Fogelsville; grandsons Adam Francis Riemer Malantonio, Julian Moses Hattem, Cory Gabriel Riemer Malantonio; nieces; nephews and cousins.
