Colonial Regional Police responded to a number of reported vehicle-break-ins in the same area the morning of Feb. 26.

According to police, between 7:45 and 8:15 p.m. six cars parked in lots of South Commerce Way were entered by smashing through windows.

Purses and valuable items were quickly taken from vehicles at Liven Up Health and Fitness, St. Luke's Health and Fitness and Kids Co-Op. A dark-colored SUV was observed in the lots driving without its lights activated just prior to the discovery of the thefts.
