William B. Nonnemacher
William B. Nonnemacher, 57, of Ashfield, died February 25, 2013, at his residence. He was the companion of Denise D. Rhyder, of Ashfield. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Christine (Roth) Nonnemacher, of Allentown, and the late Harvey Nonnemacher who died in 1992.
He was currently employed as a behavioral counselor at The Behavioral Health Associates Academy in Lehighton, and previously worked in Monroe County for the Intermediate Unit as a counselor, The Lehighton Area School District, and for over 17 years in the same capacity at The Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.
He was a 1973 graduate of Emmaus High School where he was an outstanding wrestler, cross country and track participant and was awarded the Scholar-Athlete award. He later earned a Bachelor of Science at East Stroudsburg College in 1978 where he also wrestled at the collegiate level. While at East Stroudsburg he was a member of the TKE fraternity.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved golfing, skiing, kayaking, gardening, visiting the coastal waterways, woodworking, fishing and spending time with his companion and family.
He attended Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield, and was a social member of East Penn Sporting Club.
He is survived by his companion; two daughters, Deirdre Rose, of Tannersville, and Emily Christine, of Bethlehem; three sisters, Renee and her husband Mike Halm, of Macungie, Judie and her husband Belton Goff, of McCormick, S.C., Alice Welsh, of Macungie; seven brothers, Tommy, of Emmaus, Jack and his wife Dianne, of Emmaus, Ron, of Emmaus, Barry and his wife Rose, of Alburtis, Mike, of Chapman's, Tim and his wife Jan, of Quakertown, Terry and his wife Martha, of Golden, Colo.; four step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gary in 1986.
