Operation Cookies From Home is a Council-wide project where Girl Scouts can sell cookies to be sent to military personnel around the world.

Troop 6294 led their sixth annual Cookies for the Troops campaign March 2 at the Wescosville Recreation Center. The Scouts also led a silent raffle and auction as a fundraiser with leader Diane Kick collecting prizes for these drawings from local businesses.

Approximately 150 area businesses from the Allentown, Emmaus, Macungie and Trexlertown area contributed prizes. Most prizes were gift cards and certificates to area eateries, retail establishments, grocery stores and entertainment.

The goal is to send 1,000 boxes to the troops. While the fundraiser accomplished a good portion of this amount, the Girl Scouts still need more to accomplish their goal. Questions can be forwarded to dgkpa@yahoo.com.
