What do Mario Andretti, Lee Butz, David Jaindl, Kostas Kalogeropoulos and Julio Guridy have in common with "Mock Turtle Marionettes"?

It's simple. They are coming together to make a video to send a powerful message that we all have a responsibility to protect our community's children from abuse and neglect.

The video, "Have a Heart for Children," premieres at the The Fund to Benefit Children & Youth, 6 p.m. March 9, Hotel Bethlehem, 437 Main St., Bethlehem.

Funds raised through the event support the child abuse prevention programs of Project Child and the work that The Fund to Benefit Children & Youth does with local victims of child abuse and neglect.

The evening is dedicated to the memory of Marlene "Linny" Fowler, who died Feb. 4. She was on the boards of Valley Youth House and The Fund to Benefit Children & Youth. If anyone is the epitome of having a heart for children, it was Linny. She faithfully attended and supported the event over the last seven years since it's inception in 2006.

Ara Barlieb and Pamela Wallace of Barlieb Wallace Productions Ltd. have been traveling around the Lehigh Valley taping a message that will become "Because all Children Matter," a video that will be featured at the "Have a Heart for Children" dinner dance. Barlieb, a member of the Advisory Board for Lehigh County Office of Children and Youth Services and the Vice President of the Project Child Steering Committee, and Wallace are donating their services to get this important message across.

Project Child is a program of Valley Youth House. It has been operating since 1991 with the mission of preventing child abuse and neglect throughout the Lehigh Valley. Some of the ways to accomplish this mission is through the provision of parenting education classes and support groups, legislative advocacy; and the dissemination of information about the seriousness of child abuse and strategies for its prevention.

The Fund to Benefit Children & Youth was founded in 1990 with the mission of providing at-risk and abused and neglected children basic necessities that are not available from any other source. Clothing, beds, enrichment activities, camp scholarships, and health and dental care are just some of the needs being met. The fund has helped more than 20,000 children since 1991.

Vasily, Sonia Vasquez, Lauren Wallitsch and Paul Willistein.

Three years ago, Project Child and The Fund to Benefit Children & Youth joined forces to make "Have a Heart for Children" a more successful event. It is an evening of mixing, mingling and dancing to the music of the Philadelphia Funk Authority. Dinner, a raffle drawing, and a silent auction are part of the evening.
