Velma M. Sittler, 91, of Slatington, formerly from New Tripoli, died Feb. 21, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Inpatient Hospice Unit, Allentown.
She was the last of 10 siblings born to Calvin and Bertha (Snyder) Sittler in New Tripoli.
She was a longtime cook at Fatzinger's Hotel, New Tripoli, at the former Moselem Springs Inn, Fleetwood, and finally for the Northwestern Lehigh School District.
A life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter 235, she also was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli.
Her survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann, wife of Howard Bowers, with whom she resided, granddaughter-in-law, Sharon L. (Hahn) Bowers of Lehighton; great-grandchildren Jeremy A. and Kevin C. Stein, and Gene Aaron Bowers, great-great-grandchildren Nolan, Mackenzie, Keegan and Layla; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Eugene LeRoy Bowers, and nine brothers and sisters.
