Edna Heffner, 89, from New Tripoli, formerly of Poestenkill, N.Y., died Feb. 19, 2013, in the home of her daughter, Genevieve R. Stigler, with whom she resided.

Born Dec. 18, 1923, in Dubach, La., she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Muriel A. (Poland) Jordan.

She was raised and spent most of her childhood years in Choccolocco, Ala.

A senior stenographer for the New York State Department of Health for 32 years before retiring in 2000, she was a charter member of Wynants-kill Wesleyan Church, Wynantskill, N.Y.

Her survivors include children Genevieve R. Stigler and her husband, Ronald, with whom she resided, Sandra L. Heffner of Allentown, Charles J. Heffner of Rocky Mount, Va.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
