Alton M. Hausman

Alton M. Hausman, 91, of Schnecksville, died Feb. 20, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Carole J. (Wescoe) Hausman and the late Pauline M. (Hartline) Hausman.

Born June 10, 1921, in Schnecksville, he was the son of the late George and Beulah M. (Semmel) Hausman.

He was an assistant manager and heavy equipment operator for Penn-DOT for 17 years before retiring in 1984.

Prior to that, he operated heavy equipment for the former Windsor Service, Reading, for six years.

He operated his family farm in Schnecksville from 1942-56.

A member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, he formerly served on the church council.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Kerry G. and his wife, Carol, of Germansville, Charlotte M. Smith and her husband, Richard, of Richmond, Ky., Paulinda M. Slifer and her husband, Richard, of New Tripoli, Michael H. Hausman and his wife, Sandi, of Schnecksville; daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Hausman of Coplay; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Revalin A., grandson, Peter J. Slifer; siblings Hilda M. Klotz and Franklin H.
