Lester Jay Bacon

Lester "Les" Jay Bacon died February 22, 2013, in Claremont, N.H. following an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Anna Lee Akers Bacon for 56 years until her death in 2000. Born in Sheboygan, Wis., he was the son of Lester Fay and Viola Tousley Bacon.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp prior to a 36-year career as an engineer at Buckeye Pipe Line Company where he served as a manager in the Right of Way department.

He was an active member of the Parkway Church of Christ, Allentown, and a 32nd Degree Mason out of the Reading lodge.

He will be remembered by his family as a steady provider who was always eager to help any way he could.

He is survived by four children, Clayton of Lima, of Ohio, Nancy O'Sullivan, of Claremont, N.H., Roger, of Emmaus, Phyllis Hale, of Pittsburgh; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three siblings.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. The Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus, is handling the arrangements.
