John F. Grim, 72, of Lower Macungie Township, died February 15, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Chiyo T. (Tsukiyama) Grim. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this past May. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Catherine R. (Murtaugh) Grim Sr.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He worked for the Morning Call for 35 years. Starting in 1969 he worked as a copy editor, and eventually became the assistant managing editor prior to his retirement. Previously he was an editor and reporter for the Morning Star in Okinawa, Japan.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Catherine R. and her husband Anthony R. Werley, of Mertztown; brothers, Thomas E. and his wife Karen, of Allentown, and Francis E. Jr. and his wife Jean, of Whitehall; grandson, Sean G. Werley.

Arrangements were made by the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Allentown.
