Chain saws stolen

from toolbox

Upper Macungie Township police say two Stihl chain saws model number 192TC with 14-inch blades were stolen sometime between 3:30 p.m. Feb. 12 and 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 13 from a toolbox on a bucket truck belonging to Asplundh Tree Experts Co.

The truck was parked at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Truck Stop, 5047 Cetronia Road, Upper Macungie Township. Police say the lock on the box was cut to gain entry.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call police at 484-661-5911.

Tools stolen

from facility

Upper Macungie police say Westower Communications reported on Feb. 15 that numerous tools were stolen between Feb. 4 and Feb. 7 from the facility at 7277 William Avenue, Upper Macungie.

Vehicle strikes

Upper Macungie police say officers were dispatched for an abandon, disabled vehicle in the 6000 block of Chapmans Road, Upper Macungie Township, at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 12.

Upon arrival, officers found a one-vehicle traffic accident with no driver on scene, police say.

According to police, the vehicle was northbound on Chapmans Road, when Brandon L. Beltz, 25, of Allentown, allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and his vehicle drifted off the roadway while negotiating a bend in the road.

Police say as a result, his vehicle struck a cement storm drain rendering it inoperable.

No injuries were reported, police say.

Beltz was cited for failure to immediately notify law enforcement of the accident, police say.

Copper wire, tools stolen at business

Upper Macungie police say copper wire and power tools were stolen from Michelman Steel, 6338 Farm Bureau Road, Upper Macungie Township, between 4:45 p.m. Feb. 17 and 6:22 a.m. the next day.

Driver charged

with having drugs

Upper Macungie Township Police say Aaron D. Jablin, 24, of Allentown, was stopped 10:01 a.m. Feb. 11 for an alleged traffic violation on Route 222 North bypass at Route 100, Upper Macungie Township.

Police say during the stop, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana was allegedly discovered in the vehicle.

Jablin was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police say.

Driver charged

with DUI

Upper Macungie police say Gerald Ostrowski, 55, of 269 Alexander Drive, Allentown, was allegedly found sleeping in his vehicle with the engine running 5:31 a.m. Feb. 17 in the 7900 block of Cross Creek Circle, Upper Macungie.

Police say Ostrowski was placed under arrest for suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Alcohol stolen

from garage

Upper Macgunie police say a homeowner reported a 16-year-old Allentown boy entered a garage at 8:11 p.m. Feb. 10 in the 5000 block of Derick Drive, Upper Macungie Township and stole several bottles of alcohol.

The teen, who was confronted by the homeowner, fled on foot.

A teen matching the description of the boy was found in the 6300 block of Farm Bureau Road.

He was taken into custody and remanded to the Lehigh County Juvenile Detention Center.
