Ronald G. Janz, Sr., 78, of Schnecks-ville, died Feb. 16, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He and his wife Patricia A. (Gochanour) Janz celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary Jan. 7.
Born Jan. 31, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Edward H. and Anna M. (Moll) Janz.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a mechanical engineer at Thomas and Betts Inc. formerly in New Jersey and, prior to that, the former General Electric, Allentown.
He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, with which he served as division captain of the 5th District, Eastern Shore.
He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters, Cheryl L. Allen and her husband, Andy, of Allentown, Cathie P. Borman and her husband, Roger, of Coplay; daughter-in-law Tammy Janz of Buckeye, W.Va.; brother Edward H. of Cottonwood, Ariz.; grandchildren Andrew, Collin, Kenneth, Samantha and Joseph; and a great-grandson Ayden.
He was predeceased by a son, Ronald G. "Butch" Jr. who died in 2003.
