Parkland senior volleyball players Kelly Robertson and Taylor Krause both continued to pile up postseason honors after another successful season.
The Trojans' Penn State-bound duo were both recently named third team All-Americans by Volleyball Magazine and were also named Prep Volleyball All-Americans for the second time in their careers.
The awards make Robertson and Krause the most decorated high school girls volleyball players ever in the Lehigh Valley, according to Parkland head coach Mike Krause.
Robertson, a middle hitter and the 2011-12 Parkland Press Female Athlete of the Year, adds to an impressive resume that includes being named Pennsylvania's Gatorade Player of the Year, Under Armour first team All-American, MaxPreps second team All-American, finalist for Prep Volleyball Player of the Year, LVC Player of the Year, District 11 Player of the Year, PIAA All-State selection and Little Lion Invitational Co-MVP.
Krause, the team's setter, was a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, second team Under Armour All-American, a finalist for Prep Volleyball Setter of the Year, Prep Volleyball Defensive Dandy selection, LVC first team choice, District 11 first team member, PIAA All State selection and Little Lion Invitational Co-MVP.
The players helped Parkland to its first-ever girls volleyball state championship as juniors and led the team back to the state title game this season, where the Trojans fell to Hempfield. They finish their careers with three LVC and District 11 titles in addition to the state crown.
