Lewis M. Kuhns, 89, of South Whitehall Township, died Feb. 6, 2013, in Cedarbrook, South Whitehall.
He was the husband of the late Halina (Kaminski) Kuhns.
Born Nov. 24, 1923, in Cetronia, he was the son of the late Mervin and Edna (Mangold) Kuhns.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army serving in Normandy during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He was a truck driver for the former Roy J. Kern Trucking, Schnecksville, for 20 years before retiring.
Prior to that, he worked for the former Schlitzer Trucking, a bulk milk hauler, Orefield.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Cedar Union Church, Cetronia.
He was a member of the Poultrymen's Association.
His survivors include children Doris H. Wood-ring and her husband, Perry, of Whitehall, Linda L. Milander and her husband, Randy, of Allentown, James L. Kuhns of Whitehall; siblings Viola Frey of Allentown, Florence Hartzell of Emmaus, Arthur Kuhns of Bethlehem, Doris Strauss of Topton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings Raymond, Norman, Paul, Eleanor Ruppert and MaryLou Shoemaker.
