Herman A. Ginder

Herman A. Ginder, 85, of Macungie, formerly of Allentown, died Feb. 8, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Inpatient Hospice Unit, Allentown.

He was the widower of Jane F. (Roessler) Ginder.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Arthur and Esther (Bowman) Ginder.

A carpenter all his life, he worked for Butz Construction Co. for many years where he was a foreman.

He was a member of Carpenter Union 600.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He then went to the Naval Academy from 1947-50.

His survivors include a daughter-in-law, Debra K. (Trumbauer) Ginder of New Smithville; brother Mark of Ijamsville, Md.; grandchildren Jason A. of Avon, N.C., Stephanie A. of Fredericksburg, Va. and Kyle J. of New Smithville; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, John A., and a brother, William.

His services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 15, at Keller Funeral Homes Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Candi Cain-Borgman officiating.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, South Whitehall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031.
