Stephen Christopher Mohan Sr., 80, of Macungie, died February 9, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Josephine "Jo" (Pace) Mohan. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary June 21, 2012. Born in Newfield, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Helen (Lukowit) Mohan.
A 1951 graduate of Vineland High School, Vineland, N.J.; he enlisted in the Navy Dec. 5, 1951. A Korean War veteran, he was assigned to the USS Platte while in service off the coast of Korea and in Subic Bay in the Philippines. He received numerous awards for his outstanding service.
He worked for Sears Roebuck for 30 years holding various managerial positions.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
Always active, he has been a member of numerous organizations including the USS Platte Club; Macungie VFW Post #9264; Knights of Columbus #528, 3rd Degree; Knights of Columbus #931, 4th Degree; Lower Macungie Senior Citizens; Lower Lehigh AARP #4150; UFCIO Local #1776 and past president of the Sears Retiree Club.
He enjoyed the outdoors and time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Stephen C. Jr. and his girlfriend, Rosie Tran of Bethlehem, Craig M. and his wife Connie, of Lumberton, N.J.; sisters, Helen Rafter, of Vineland, N.J., Frances and her husband Michael Kaganzev, of Vineland, N.J., Mary Genna, of Fla.; grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon and Brooke; nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the church, 18069.
