Feb. 7:"Ghost in the House," high school auditorium, 7:30 p.m. Actor Ernie Hudson of Ghostbuster's movie fame stars in this one-man play about Jack Johnson, the first African-American heavyweight boxing champion.

An elderly Johnson looks back on his life, specifically the impact of racism on his career.

The play is collaboration between Hudson and director Frank Megna. Proceeds will benefit the Parkland School District Education Foundation. For more information, call 610-434-6252.

Feb. 9:GEO Club Electronics Recycling Drive, high school, 9 a.m.-noon. GEO will collect anything with a plug up to the size of a TV. They are not collecting batteries or other items with toxic or regulated substances such as refrigerators with freon.

Feb. 9: Mr. Parkland contest 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Feb. 24:High school softball team is hosting a Longaberger basket, Vera Bradley and Coach bingo.

Chinese auction and raffle will have a signed 76ers basketball from Darryl Dawkins and a signed Karl Malone Hall of Fame jersey.

There will be homemade food and bake goods. Tickets $20 for 20 games. Special bingo games are extra.

Doors open 12:30 p.m. Bingo starts 1:30 p.m.

Announcements

Registration for new students who will be entering Parkland High School next fall will take place Feb. 25 and 26. A snow make-up date is scheduled for Feb. 28.
