Girls roll as swimmers earn split with SHS

The Whitehall swimming team earned a split against Salisbury Tuesday evening.

The girls cruised to a 115-50 victory while the boys fell to the Falcons 129-40.

The girls won all but one event and were paced by Brooke Gilson and Mina Feyrer who were both double winners for the Zephs.

Gilson won the 200 free in 2:03.13 and the 500 free in 5:15.30. Feyrer took the 200 IM in 2:18.58 and the 100 back in 1:03.27.

Vicky Ceasar, Alexus Merkert, Allison Emick and Jess Marselles each won an event as well. Ceasar's came in the 50 free in 27.53. Merkert took the 100 fly in 1:00.88 while Emick's win was in the 100 free in 1:00.55. Marselles touched first in the 100 breast in 1:16.26.

The Falcons only win came in the 400 free relay, but the Zephs won the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. In the medley event, Feyrer, Marselles, Merkert and Gilson teammed up to win with a time of 1:55.65. In the free relay, it was Grace Sullivan, Merkert, Feyrer and Gilson who had a winning time of 1:47.09.

The Salisbury boys captured every event in their victory.

Eric Tatum was a double-winner for the Falcons. He won the 200 IM in 2:06.54 and the 100 fly in 54.41.

For Whitehall, Jonathan Boyd had Whitehall's best finish, taking second in the 100 back. Boyd was also third in the 200 free. Rudy Romanyshyn was third in the 200 IM, Jason Dziedzic was third in the 50 free and the 100 butterfly and Anthony Fragnito was third in the 100 free.
