Cooking sets off alarm
A report of a fire alarm brought Coplay police and borough firefighters to the Columbia House on South Second Street Saturday evening. Police said the alarm was set off when a tenant was cooking in the kitchen.
The fire department responded to the call.
Front grill of vehicle stolen
A resident of North Third Street reported Jan. 21 the grill of her Volkswagen Passat was stolen.
The theft took place sometime between Jan. 18 and 21 while the car was parked at the rear of her residence, police said.
Police were told the grill has an approximate value of $100. The vehicle was not stolen.
Woman's purse reported stolen
A resident of East 18th Street, Northampton, reported Jan. 24 her purse was stolen while she was at A Plus Pediatrics, 17 N. Third St., Coplay.
The woman reported another woman in the waiting room had been causing a disturbance with her and her father. During the disturbance, the other woman in the waiting room grabbed her purse and fled. The Coach purse is valued at $209, police were told.
Police are investigating.
