William L. Damiano, 77, founder of Premise Maid Candies, Brein-igsville, died Jan. 19, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, after battling Parkinson's disease for 29 years.
He and his wife Frances (Cannariato) Damiano were married 54 years last October.
Born in Nesquehoning, he was the son of the late Anthony and Carmella (Cardinale) Damiano.
He was a professional and chemical engineer for Air Products and Chemicals, Trexlertown, receiving a Master's degree in business administration from Lehigh University.
He enjoyed building the candy business with his family and close friends and cherished his time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.
He was a member of the Retail Confectionary Association of Philadelphia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael W. and his wife, Eve, of Zionsville, Joseph M. of Breinigsville; daughter Lorraine F., wife of Charlie Barebo, of Emmaus; brother, Frank Izzo and his wife, Theresa, of Bethlehem; sister Marie, wife of Dr. Joseph Belovich, of Palmerton; sister-in-law Antionette Marchese of Philadelphia; grandchildren Alexandra, Vincent, Charlie Ashley, and Alexis.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Frank Izzo Sr.
