Donald R. Kunkle, 79, of Krumsville, Berks County, died Jan. 11, 2013 in his home.

He and his wife Betty J. ( Burkhart) Kunkle celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in August 2012.

Born in Weisenberg Township, he was a son of the late Harold and Verna (Snyder) Kunkle.

He was a tow motor operator at the Glen-Gery Brick Co., Shoemakersville, from 1955 until retiring in 1985.

He honorably served his country as a member of the U.S Army and Army Reserves from 1956-62.

He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC, Krumsville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Brenda Webb of Buffalo Mills, Diane and her husband Roger Billig of Danville, and Sheila and her husband Roy Schell of Spring City; son Randy and his wife Coleen of Kutztown; brothers LeRoy and wife, Patricia of Mertztown, Larry and wife Audrey, and Dennis and wife Eileen of Kempton; and 12 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter Connie and a sister Violet Solt.
