Joseph P. Slifer Jr., 92, of Macun-gie, died January 21, 2013, in Lehigh Center. Born in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of the late Jospeh P. Sr. and Flora (Scearce) Slifer.

He worked for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for many years.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Allentown.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Battle of the Bulge with his twin brother, where he received a Bronze Star.

He is survived by a sister, Christine Bachman, of Breinigsville; companion, Margaret Fogel, of Bethlehem; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Hershman and brother, Jack.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 822 North 19th St., Allentown with a viewing beginning 10 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
