Blanche A. Musser

Blanche A. (Rahn) Musser, 104, a long-time resident of Emmaus (74 plus years) died January 16, 2013, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Henry S. Musser, who died January 1, 1990. Born in Mt. Penn, she was the daughter of George and Laura Rahn, of Kutztown.

Although she spent most of her life as a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker, she was trained as a bookkeeper and secretary at the Pierce School of Bookkeeping in Philadelphia. She was also a waitress at her parents' restaurant in Kutztown and Shankweilers in Fogelsville.

She is survived by sons, Emerson and his wife, Joyce of Hometown, Wallace and his companion, Gerrianne, of Emmaus, and Alan, of Corpus Christy, Texas; sister, Edna Mertz, of Middletown; grandchildren, Deborah and her husband, Anthony Dellatore, of Bloomsburg, Donna and her husband, Jason Sturdevant, of Stamford, Conn., JoAnn and her husband, Roberto Santizo, of Wheaton, Ill., Linda, of Cape May, N.J., Pamela, of Carlisle, Russell and Henry, of Mechanicsburg; great-grandchildren, Jaime, Erin, Chelsea, Benjamin, Sarah, and Emma; great-great-grandchild, Tayah.

Contributions may be made to Cedarbrook Nursing Home and/or Lutheran Home Care and Hospice Inc., both in care of the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
