Orville G. Hawk

Orville G. Hawk, 95, of Luther Crest, South Whitehall Township, formerly of Emmaus, died January 3, 2013, in Luther Crest Health Center. He was the husband of the late Marguerite H. (Minnich). Born in Weissport, he was a son of the late Walter C. and Martha (Smith) Hawk.

A 1935 graduate of Allentown High School, he was also a graduate of the American Institute of Banking. Employed at First National Bank of Allentown since 1935, he began as a messenger and proof clerk and retired as its chairman of the board in 1982.

An active lifelong member of Seibert E.C. Church, Allentown, he served as its Sunday school superintendent and president of the official board.

Always very active in community affairs, he had been a leader in civic, educational, religious and charitable organizations, including Pennsylvania United Way, Allentown Rotary Club and Allentown-Lehigh County Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by daughters, Judith E. and her husband Robert E. Coulsey, of Macungie, Jeanne M. and her husband David L. Mathias, of Emmaus; sister, Althea N. and her husband G. Wesley Sell, of Emmaus; sister-in-law, Charlotte Judd, of Luther Crest; grandchildren, Rebecca and her husband Charles Benz, of Collegeville, Stephen Coulsey, of New Jersey, Andrew Coulsey and his fiancee, Carrie Stangle, of Allentown; great-grandsons, Stephen Coulsey, Chad and Aaron Benz; nephews; nieces. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald W. and Lee W.
