Jan. 19

Valley Rail Promotions will present The Great Lehigh Valley Train Meet 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Merchants Square Mall, 1901 S. 12th St., Allentown. Enjoy over 12,000 square feet of model and toy trains and train related merchandise.

Old Zionsville UCC Church, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and bake sale 7 to 11 a.m. There will be a cost for guests six and over for breakfast. The public is welcome to attend. For information, call 610-966-5115.

Jan. 20

Lehigh Temple, 2120 Route 100 between Macungie and Trexlertown, will host a breakfast fundraiser 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a bake sale.

Jan. 21

The Swain School, 1100 S. 24th St., Allentown, will host its third annual community celebration for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 9 a.m. to noon. The event is open to the public and all planned activities are appropriate to students of all ages and their parents. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For those who would like to stay after the formal program, a light lunch compliments of Subway will be provided. The Lehigh Valley Chapter of Score will host a free financial presentation 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the offices of Lafayette Ambassador Bank, 2005 City Line Road, Suite 200, Bethlehem. Vice President of Commercial Loans at Lafayette Bank Daniel Hilbert and former CEO of Paul Fredrick MenStyle Allen Abbott will present, "Financing your Small Business: What You Need to Know about Borrowing and Raising Capital." Jan. 27

St. Thomas More School will hold kindergarten registration 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the school. There will also be an open house 10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and a blood drive 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie, will host a chili cook-off and talent show 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. For more information, call 610-965-3265.

Jan. 28

GFWC PA Woman's Club of Emmaus will hold their monthly meeting 5:30 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 5th and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. Keith Neward, of AAA East Central, will be the speaker and the program will be "Keep the Keys." Members are asked to bring craft items for display at the arts festival.

This week is Catholic Schools Week and St. Thomas More is celebrating with parent, teacher, student, academics and athletics appreciation days. This year's theme at St. Thomas More is "Catholic schools raise the standards."

Jan. 31

The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Municipal Building, Old Zionsville. The topic will be "Classy Collectibles with John Herbein." The public is welcome to attend and refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 610-966-4851.

Feb. 1

The Emmaus Arts Commission is hosting SnowBlast Winter Festival throughout Emmaus Feb. 1 and 2. The seventh annual SnowBlast will include a 5 p.m. Friday night kick-off on Triangle Park with sculpted ice demonstrations, entertainment, an ice bar and many other activities. The full celebration schedule and activity times will be posted on the Emmaus Arts Commission website, www.emmausarts. org.

The Emmaus Historical Society will be open 5 to 9 p.m. during SnowBlast Winter Festival. The building will be decorated with winter displays. Learn the story of "The Snowflake Man" and see photos of local blizzards, including the Great Blizzard of 1888. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
