Carolyn E. Bitting, 69, of Brein-igsville, died Jan. 1, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was the wife of the late John R. Bitting, who died in January 2010.

She was a payroll clerk at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall, for more than 15 years before retiring.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary (Kessler) Youse.

A member of Huff's Union Church, she volunteered at Good Will Fire Company, No. 1, Trexlertown, and at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

She enjoyed traveling and especially loved Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks.

She was an avid reader and adored her grandchildren.

Her survivors include sons Tracy A. Dietrich and his wife, Tracy Ann, of Covington, Ga., Kyle D. Dietrich and his wife, Amy, of Trexlertown; brother Fritz Bogert and wife, Judy, of Spring Mills; sister-in-law Wanda Bogert of Pennsylvania Furnace, Centre County; grandchildren Elias, Sarah and twins Keeley and Addison.

She was predeceased by her brother, Robert, in December 2012.
