Edgar R. Dennis, 84, of Emmaus, died January 4, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Marjorie L. (Dundore) Dennis. The couple would have celebrated 60 years of marriage June 14. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Edgar L. and Esther M. (Krauss) Dennis.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Emmaus.

He was a graduate of Emmaus High School and played basketball, football, softball and ran track.

He was employed by General Electric in Allentown for many years working in the warehouse and driving a truck for the company.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife; children, Robert of Emmaus, Brian and his companion Keith Brietfeller, of Philadelphia, Terry and her husband Donald Thomas, of Beaufort, N.C., and Chris and her husband Richard Newton Jr., of Kutztown; grandchildren, Tina Thomas and Kristina and Emma Newton.
