Fern J. Romig Smith, 83, formerly of Allentown and Macun-gie, died Dec. 13, 2012, in the Heritage Care Center, American Fort, Utah.

She was the beloved wife of Harold W. Smith.

Born in Alburtis, she was the daughter of the late Robert N. and Minnie Mae (Conrad) Shoemaker.

Before retiring in 1992, she worked as a packer at Daytimer for 25 years.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fogelsville, and the Macungie VFW.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Robert A., Richard R., John S. and Edward C. Romig; daughter Elaine F. Roundy; stepson David M. Smith; brothers; sister; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles A.S. Romig Sr., son Charles Jr., brothers and a sister.
