Fern J. Romig Smith, 83, formerly of Allentown and Macungie, died December 13, 2012, at the Heritage Care Center, American Fort, Utah. She was the wife of Harold W. Smith. Born in Alburtis, she was the daughter of the late Robert N. and Minnie Mae (Conrad) Shoemaker.

Before retiring in 1992, she worked as a packer at Daytimers for 25 years.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fogelsville.

She was a member of the Macungie VFW.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Robert A. Romig, Richard R. Romig, John S. Romig, Edward C. Romig; daughter, Elaine F. Roundy; stepson, David M.; brothers; sister; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles A.S. Romig Sr.; son, Charles Jr.; brothers; and a sister.
