24th Moravian Music Festival

Seven days of concerts will be presented for the 24th Moravian Music Festival, 7:30 p.m. July 14 - 20, Central Moravian Church, 73 W. Church St., and Moravian College Hurd Campus, Main and Church streets, both Bethlehem.

Moravian Music Festivals, last held in Bethlehem in 1992, are held every four years and feature almost 300 Moravian musicians from the United States and Canada.

The festival is presented by Lehigh Valley Moravian churches and coordinated by Rebecca Kleintop Owens, Central Moravian Church director of music. Concerts are preceded by a half-hour of brass and woodwind players chorales. The schedule:

July 14: Lovefeast, Central Moravian sanctuary, Lutheran and Episcopal churches choirs, Moravian Unitas choir, Central Moravian Church Choir. Guest organists and directors: Gwyn Michel, Moravian Church; Clint Miller, Episcopal Church; Linda Maule, Lutheran Church. Rev. Nola Reed Knouse, speaker

July 15: Organ concert, Central Music Director Becky Owens, Central Moravian sanctuary

July 17: "Easter Cantata" by E. W. Wolf, Festival Choir Concert and Orchestra, conducted by Dr. John Sinclair, Central Moravian sanctuary, Pre-concert lecture: David Blum

July 18: Festival Band Concert, directed by Allen Frank, Foy Hall, Moravian College Hurd Campus

July 19: Closing Music Festival and Johnston Memorial Festival Concert, Festival Choir and Orchestra, directed by Dr. John Sinclair

July 20: Closing Festival Singstunde, Festival Trombone Choir, Festival Handbell Choir and chamber ensembles, 10 a.m., Central Moravian sanctuary
