LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Letter to the editor

To the Editor:

Neighbors, it is the time of year when we all get together with family and friends.

Can you imagine what it would be like if you had none and no one wanted you? It is not a happy thought at all.

I'm writing to tell you about Forgotten Felines and Fidos, a nonprofit, no-kill shelter in Germansville, which could use your help.

It is particularly difficult to run a shelter like this because if the animals are not adopted, they are kept there for their lifetimes. FF&F also providea spay and neutering services for very reasonable fees.

One of the best ways to help is to become a member and sponsor. The small annual fee includes quarterly newsletters, as well as periodic updates.

FF&F can always use donations of bleach, liquid laundry detergent, trash bags (tall kitchen and larger), cotton swabs, Purina Cat Chow (blue bag), Purina Kitten Chow, Friskies canned food, hand sanitizer, glass cleaner, mop heads, new cat toys and unwanted towels.

John Prange, the volunteer veterinarian, provides the spay and neutering services. He is assisted by an overworked volunteer staff who can use more help with maintaining the shelter.

Dr. Prange has more than 40 years experience.

If you would like to adopt a healthy cat, kitten or dog that has had all the necessary shots and has been fixed, call FF&F at 610-760-9009.

You can also contact the shelter via the website forgottenfelines.org.

You will feel good if you help these poor creatures who can't help themselves.
