Northampton Borough Council made its 2013 spending plan official Thursday.
The eight borough lawmakers unanimously adopted the 2013 budget recommended by the administration.
This marks the fourth consecutive year homeowners and commercial property owners will be spared a tax increase. The $5.75 million budget holds the tax rate steady at 8.1 mills. All borough services also remain in place.
Borough Manager Gene Zarayko had earlier proposed a real estate tax increase of one mill. However, he was able to "tweak" it to avoid the increase after all.
"I would like to say that my staff and I worked hard to hold the tax line for 2013 and still maintain the same level of services that we provide to the borough residents, " Zarayko said.
