STUDENT OF THE WEEK Sarah Freyman

Q. What grade are you in?

A. I'm a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject this year is psychology. I think it's so interesting how the mind works and how everyone thinks.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I've been on honor roll every year in high school. I also received an Excellence in French award my sophomore year and I was inducted in the French Honor Society my junior year.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I've been a member of the high school's Varsity Dance Team for four years and I take several dance classes at my studio, That's Dancin'. I also do the spring musicals at the high school. I hold a part-time job as well.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I want to go to college to become a nurse. I really hope to work in the NICU one day with newborn babies. I love knowing that I'll be making a difference and helping others.

Q. What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A. I'd say my biggest challenge so far has been juggling my schedule throughout high school. I'm always extremely busy with dance, my job and keeping up with schoolwork, especially when rehearsals for the musical start to pick up. Though, I'm glad that I do everything I do. In the end, it's so worth it.

Q. What do you want to be remembered for?

A. I want to be remembered for my friendly and optimistic personality.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My mom, Lori, my dad, Chris, and my brother, Doug. He's 20 and studying biology at Kutztown University. I also have a dog, Jasper.

Q. Do you have someone you look up to?

A. My parents inspire me. They have always been there for me and helped me through every hard time I went through. I admire their dedication and perseverance in everything they do.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Be yourself, work hard and don't give up.
