In other matters, a request was made to split voting district 4 due to the long waiting lines in the last election.

Voters were reportedly waiting hours to cast their ballots after the official close of the polls.

Supervisor Kathy Rader suggested the issue be brought to the attention of the Lehigh County Voter Registration office.

She then gave the recreation board report, saying $195 has been collected so far for the dog park. This came through the donation letter at the park.

There is no word yet on the grant application. A basic boating course has been added for Feb. 9, 2013, and a tree trimming course on March 5, 2013.

Other possible programs for 2013 are a golf program, Chamber of Commerce mixer and a babysitting class.

The grant application for a splash park at Grange Park was not approved. However, the playground will be built; the rubber safety surface will be placed next spring.

The lacrosse clinic will begin Jan. 5, 2013 at the Velocity Sports facility, Nestle Way.

The recreation board still has a vacancy. If anyone is interested, the board's next meeting will be 7 p.m. Dec. 27 in the township building.

Solicitor Andrew Schantz introduced three ordinances for adoption.

The first limits truck traffic on Folk, Wood, Arrowhead and Weiss roads. Keystone Consulting Engineers did a study on these roads and determined large trucks should be prohibited.

The sewer rate for residential users was set at $89 per quarter. Commercial and institutional rates are determined by the usage.

Residential trash collection will be $72 per quarter. Rates for other uses vary.

Attorney James Preston, representing the Woodmont development, proposed an amendment to the ordinance governing the density in the Conservation District.

His proposal would alter the density and change the separation of the buildings.

The board recommended the changes be forwarded to the planning commission and the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission for review.

A change was made to the park rules. It will now be lawful to carry a firearm but it will be illegal to discharge it within the park.

The annual reorganization meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 7, 2013 with the auditors meeting 7 p.m. Jan. 8, 2013.

The budget for 2013 was adopted with the millage set at .64 mills. This is a change from the previous millage of 2 mills due to the reassessment of Lehigh County.

A member of the audience, Phil Del Vecchio, asked whether the proposed privatization of the Allentown sewerage treatment plant would affect the rates in Upper Macungie Township.

Schantz said the agreement was with the Lehigh County Authority and should not affect the township's rates. However, he agreed to look into the matter for the board.
