Susan Ann Kershner

Susan Ann Kershner, 46, of Allentown, died Dec. 15, 2012, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Lukes, Bethlehem.

She and her husband Bryan W. Kershner celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on Sept. 13.

Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of James M. and Deanna J. (Karicher) Miller of Wescosville.

A 1984 graduate of William Allen High School, she attended Lehigh Carbon Community College, Schnecksville.

She began her teaching career with Lehigh Valley Child Care working at the site formerly located on Hanover Avenue, Allentown.

She currently was a teacher at Bethany United Methodist Church, Wescosville, working in the pre-school program and the Mothers Morning Out program.

She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a beloved son, Carter J. at home; brother Stuart J. Miller, husband of Dr. Laurie Harford of Upper Macungie Township; sister Sharon L., wife of Samir Ashmar of Breinigsville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William F. Jr. and Frances J. (Klegarth) Kershner of South Whitehall Township; paternal grandfather-in-law and grandmother-in-law, William F. and Gladys N. Kershner; maternal grandmother-in-law, Helen C. Klegarth, all of Allentown; sister-in-law, Cheryl L. Kershner of Northampton; three nieces and three nephews.

She was predeceased by paternal grandparents Martin and Kathryn Miller; maternal grandparents Donald and Anna Karicher and niece Sierra Ashmar.

A celebration of her life will take place 11 a.m. Dec. 20, in Bethany United Methodist Church, 1208 Brookside Road, Allentown.

Call 9-11 a.m. Thursday in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Bryan W. Kershner to establish an educational fund for their son, Carter J. Kershner, c/o the funeral home, 1601 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA 18102 or to the church.
