John F. Kruczek, 74, of Whitehall, died Dec. 14, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Born May 21, 1938, in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Micholick) Kruczek.

He was employed in the maintenance department at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 30 years before retiring in 1995.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.

His survivors include a son, John P. and his wife, Denise, of Schnecksville; siblings Judy Ross, Gerald Rudzinski, both from Shenandoah, Edward Rudzinski of Frackville, Paul Rudzinski of Maryland; and granddaughter Shannon V. Kruczek.

His service was private.
