Police called

about alarm

Borough police responded Dec. 11 to a report of a vehicle alarm sounding at 9:23 p.m. in the area of Ninth and Chestnut streets.

On arrival, police said, they determined the sound of the alarm was coming from a 1991 Ford sedan.

The owner of the vehicle arrived at the scene and turned off the alarm, police said. No further action was taken by police.

Firefighters called

Coplay Police on Dec. 23 responded to a report of a fire in the parking lot at the Lehigh Valley Ice Company, 904 Chestnut St.

On arriving at the scene, police said the fire turned out to be an unattended controlled burn at the back of the Christmas tree lot.

The borough fire department also responded and handled the situation accordingly, police said. There is a retail evergreen tree business on the lot.

Motion alarm tripped

A motion alarm brought borough police to the Highlander Laundromat at 1004 Chestnut St. both on Monday and on Dec. 14.

Police said they did a thorough check of the premises and found everything secure. The owner was advised of the incidents.
