James Richard Hummel, 54, died unexpectedly November 20, 2012, in his home in Flower Mound, Texas. He was the husband of Mary Raimo. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Richard James Hummel (publisher of the Call Chronicle newspaper) and the late Martha Mignon (Wagner) Hummel.

He was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Penn State University and received his master's degree at LaSalle University.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kyle of Manhattan, N.Y., and Brett James of Flower Mound, Texas; three sisters, Donna Olivas of Snoqualmie, Wash.; Suzanne Surotchak of Jim Thorpe, and Mary Alice Rostron of Trenton, N.J.; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
