Mary "Mrs. Kay" Hannah Kowaleski, 93, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 3, 2012, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Center Valley. She was the wife of the late Leo E. Kowaleski.

Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Marie (McLean) Evans.

She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State College and Penn State College. She earned a master's degree in education in counseling from Lehigh University.

She taught health, physical education and English for five years in Coaldale High School and a half a year at Fountain Hill High School and in elementary grades. She taught health and physical education for 12 years and worked in the guidance office for 15 years, all with Catasauqua Area School District, until retiring in 1982.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Annunciation B.V.M., Catasauqua.

She is survived by two sons, Matthew and his wife Victoria and Daniel and his wife Nancy; two sisters, Marie O'Donnell and Elvira Baroletti; two granddaughters, Heather Reed and Angela Kowaleski; and three great-grandchildren, Evan, Blake and Lucas Reed.

She was predeceased by a son, Leo; and five brothers, Daniel, Thomas, Edward, Robert and Fred Evans.
