Louis Panny Jr., 79, of Northampton, died Nov. 7, 2012, at Muhlenberg Hospital. He was the husband of Agnes (Miksits) Panny for 53 years.
Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Louis and Theresa (Wechsler) Panny. He was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict.
He worked for Piels Brewery and Ciba Pharmaceuticals. He and his wife owned and operated Panny's Market, Northampton, and the Plaza Deli, Fogelsville.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714 and the Catholic War Veterans Post 454 of Northampton, where he was a member of the funeral honor guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert; a daughter, Annmarie; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer, John and Christopher; and cousins.
