Janice M. Scholl, 78, of Emmaus, died December 5, 2012, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Robert E. Scholl. The couple would have celebrated 56 years of marriage Feb. 16, 2013. Born in Limeport, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Sr. and Jennie (Erney) Schaffer.

She was a member of Chestnut Hill United Church of Christ, Coopersburg.

She was a sewing machine operator, having retired from the Linden Company of Coopersburg in 1997 and previously working for the Emmaus Pajama Factory.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Beverly G. and her husband Carl Maurer of South Whitehall Township, and Vickie S. and her husband Jeff Hoffman of Macungie; siblings, Richard Schaffer and LaMae Charron; grandchildren, Nicole, Stephanie and Jason; step-grandchildren, Shane, Danique and Audric; two great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; many nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by 12 siblings.
