Fred E. Montz, of Zionsville, died December 5, 2012. He was the husband of the late Anna E. (Ott) Montz who died in 1997. Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Huter) Montz.

He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a crane operator for 42 years.

He was a 50-year member of Lehigh Lodge #326 Masonic Lodge, a member of the Rajah Shriners International Organization and a member of the Scottish Rite of the Lehigh Valley Consistory.

He was a founding member of the Community Fish and Game Association of Old Zionsville and a member of the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club.

He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville.

He was a man who loved life. From driving his Cadillac to hunting, fishing, crabbing and telling many tales to his grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Ronald; sister, Ruth Stauffer; three grandchildren, Wendi, Jodi and Gwen; five great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaugthter; companion of 12 years, Evelyn Albee. He was predeceased by a son, Robert; brother, Richard; daughter-in-law, Patricia.
