Kathy Kehs, Northwestern Lehigh art instructor, introduced her high school students who had their artwork hung or placed on the window sills of the school board meeting room.
The students were acknowledged at the Nov. 14 meeting.
Katie Cappuccino and Rosey Pergosky used an art technique that provided a foreground, middle and background. Katie said she never thought she had artistic talent but decided to try it and was pleased.
She used a bridge as her middle focus. Rosey used pastels for the first time. Her picture was of a cabin with hot air balloons passing by.
Megan Witt, who worked in ceramics, sculpted two giraffes with necks entwined. Their heads formed a heart.
Hailey Kramer used slab construction to make a box and a clay castle lantern.
Also using clay for a lantern character was Kayla Olson. This was her first clay project.
Valora Mujaj created a pastel with sunset and rocks.
TJ Fedirko made a charcoal owl picture. He said he always liked owls. Kehs said he is good at working independently.
A paper sculpture that brought a story to life was Kaleen Suter's contribution. She was working on a book-art project.
Kehs said Courtney Guynn was doing the kind of work with which a house could be decorated.
She made a pillow and then painted a design on it. Her project was with textiles.
Nicole Metzger crafted a contemporary clay sculpture of an owl. She did research and then personalized it.
Also working with textiles was Aubrie Sauerzopf, who made a pillow shaped like a tree.
The textiles were craft projects.
