Coplay police

Man cited for public drunkenness

Coplay Police cited Eric Kroboth, 43, of 376 N. Granger Road, Northampton, with public drunkenness following a call Nov. 14 at 8:32 p.m.

Police said Kroboth allegedly attempted to engage in a fight with another man who resides in the borough. The location of the incident was not mentioned in the report.

Police said on arrival Kroboth was located sitting in his vehicle.

Police respond to armed robbery

Coplay Police early Monday morning assisted the Walnutport Police Department with the stop of a vehicle possibly involved in an armed robbery at the Walmart in Lehighton.

Walnutport police followed the vehicle south on Route 145 at Laury's Station. Police departments from surrounding jurisdictions also responded.

Borough police said the vehicle was stopped at Top Star Express on Route 145 and three suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Police respondto fire call

Coplay Police and the borough fire department on Nov.15 were called to a residence in the 100 block of North Sixth Street for a report of a fire taking place.

On arrival, it was determined an electrical cord caused the fire. The fire department handled the situation accordingly, police said.

Motor vehicle accident reported

A motor vehicle crash on Nov. 21 brought borough police to the 100 block of South Fourth Street.

Police said a 1999 Dodge parked in the 100 block of South Fourth Street was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet operated by Patrick Mack, 25, of Lehigh Avenue, Whitehall.

Mack told police he swerved to avoid hitting a squirrel before his vehicle struck the parked Dodge, police said.

The Dodge is owned by Scott Kline, who resides on South Fourth Street., police said.

Mack was cited with driving under the influence, police said.

Burnt food setsoff alarm

Burnt food on a stove at 10 N. Front St., Apt. 6, brought out borough police and the fire department Nov. 14.

The fire department personnel took command of the situation, police said.

Borough officials have noted it is a common occurrence that an alarm goes off at the apartment complex.

Alarm triggered

Borough police on Nov. 21 responded to a residential alarm in the 300 block of Maple Street.

On arriving at the home, police spoke to an Allentown resident who said he was dropping off several pies at his son's residence when the alarm went off at 4:25 p.m.
