The Catasauqua Garden Club will celebrate the holidays and another successful year during its Wednesday, Dec. 5 meeting.

Note this meeting begins at noon at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. There will be no artistic or horticultural competition. Bring with you $4 to be used toward the cost of the meal, six cookies to share, your own silverware and a donation for Meals on Wheels.

This is a time to relax, enjoy a great meal, review a successful year, share some awards and celebrate the holidays. Come prepared to have fun!

Holy Trinity Orthodox Catholic Church is holding a kiffle sale just in time for the holidays. Nut, apricot, raspberry and lekvar varieties are available for purchase.

All seniors from Catasauqua and North Catasauqua, or those who belong to a church or organization in Catasauqua or North Catasauqua, are invited to the holiday meal Saturday, Dec. 1, at 11:45 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road.

Congratulations to Matt Williams, a 1989 Catasauqua High School graduate now teaching technology and engineering education at Brigham City Middle School in Utah.

He was recently recognized as a teacher who made a particular impact on the life of a student, and was honored at a school dinner.

He is the son of Larry and Fran Williams of Catasauqua.
