William P. Lang, 85, of Macungie, died November 25, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Carolyn J. (Albright) Lang. They celebrated 59 years of marriage this past August. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Anna (Gotzi) Lang.

He was a member of the 1945 Central Catholic High School basketball team that won the PCIAA State Championship.

He was a sergeant in the Army serving as a page at the War Crime Trials in Tokyo.

He was a member of the St. Aloysius Young Men's Society, Allentown.

He was previously employed at Sears in Whitehall for 25 years, where he was honored to be a member of its Four-Star Committee. After retiring from Sears, he was employed at Milller Keystone Blood Center for 10 years.

He was a former member of Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown, and was currently attending St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; sons, James and his wife Patricia of Wayne, N.J., Kevin of Macungie; daughter, Jane and her husband Kevin Baker of Allentown; grandchildren, Patrick, Courtney, Katy, Samantha, Genna, Chelsea and John; sister, Theresa Trinkle of Grove City, Ohio. He was predeceased by his brother, Rudolph; sister, Julia Yale.

Memorial contributions may be made to a no-kill animal shelter or a charity of one's choice.

Services will be held 10:15 a.m Friday at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton streets, Allentown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, 18th & Turner streets, Allentown. Calling hours will take place 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
