Dorothy Leona Butler, 97, of Emmaus, formerly of Lansdale, died November 22, 2012, at her home. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Chester A. and Bertha (Memminger) Umstead.

She was a member of Lansdale United Methodist Church for 50 years and was also active with Daughters of America.

She served her community as a state counselor.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy A. of Emmaus; two nieces, Barbara Rodriguez of New Hope and Sally and her husband Edmund Rambo, of North Wales; nephew, Gerald Powel and his wife, Winifred, of N.J.; cousin, Roxanna Schlimm of Lansdale; four great-nieces, Stephanie and her husband Peter Wollman and Jennifer, Kathryn and Dawn Rambo; great-nephews, Lt. Col. Stephen Rodriguez USMC; several great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Nicholas; two sisters, Margaret Gangloff and Eleanor Faylor.

Friends may greet the family after 10 a.m. with services held 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale.
