Ernest S. "Smokey" Brensinger, 74, of Old Zionsville, died November 9, 2012, in his home. He was the husband of Darlene L. (Ruppert) Gilbert Brensinger. The couple celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary last August 22. Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, he was the son of the late Amandus M. and Arline (Roth) Brensinger.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during a peacetime era.

He was employed as a welder at Tyler Pipe in Macungie for many years before retiring. Prior to that, he worked at the former Alburtis Foundry. Since his formal retirement, he worked part-time at Dan Schantz Farms in Spinnerstown.

He is survived by his wife; children, Adele K. Parker, Jamie F., and Lisa M. Diehl, all of Alburtis, Tina A. Gilbert of Bethlehem; siblings, Russell of Hellertown; Jackson, and Linda Stettler, both of Alburtis, Althea Moyer of Topton; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
