Nov. 14

The Village of Willow Lane, 6488 Alburtis Road, Macungie, will host a free and informative seminar about the aid and attendance benefits for veterans 6 to 7 p.m. Thomas R. Dye, director of veterans affairs, will discuss how to apply for this benefit and what is needed to qualify. For additional information, call 610-421-8100.

Emmaus Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5th & Chestnut streets, Emmaus, for a regular meeting and program, "Honoring Emmaus World War II Veterans and the Making of Emmaus World War II Veterans Book."

The Verizon Telecom Pioneers will hold their monthly meeting and lunch starting 11:30 a.m. at the Copperhead Grille, 1731 Airport Road, Allentown. Please bring a nonperishable item for the food bank and donations to be sent to the troops.

Nov. 16

The Friends of Lower Macungie Library will hold their November book sale at the library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 17. All proceeds will benefit the library. For more information, contact the library at 610-966-6864 or visit www.lowermaclib. org.

Nov. 17

Macungie Fire Company, 31 South Walnut Street, Macungie will host a potluck fundraiser to raise money for the family of Jason Labowski 1 to 5 p.m. Labowski, an Emmaus High School graduate, was severely injured in a car accident Oct. 3 and remains in intensive care.

Old Zionsville UCC Church, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, will host an all you can eat breakfast 7 to 11 a.m. There will be a cost for guests six and over. The public is welcome to attend.

The League of Women Voters of Lehigh and Northampton counties will hold their seventh biennial "Running for Local Office Workshop" 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Kiva Building at Northampton Community College, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem. There will be a cost.

Nov. 18

Lehigh Temple, 2120 Route 100, between Macungie and Trexlertown, will host a breakfast and bake sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Nov. 27

The Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society of Upper Milford Township will meet 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Township Building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. James Baker will give a talk on Ernst Hartenfeld, a local itinerant painter in the early 1900s. Hartenfeld painted murals in area taverns and landscapes of local farms in exchange for room and board.

Nov. 29

The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Municipal Building, Zionsville. Ken Moyer will speak about the Molly Maguires.

Nov. 30

The Emmaus Historical Society will display a redesigned train putz in a winter wonderland display 5 to 9 p.m. at their museum, 563 Chestnut St., Emmaus.

The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library will hold their sixth annual Holiday Book Sale and Reception 6 to 9 p.m. in the Margaret Knoll Gardner room of the library. The Emmaus High School Jazz Ensemble will play seasonal music while shoppers have the opportunity to sample wine, cheese and punch.

Dec. 1

The Governor Wolf Historical Society will hold its 32nd annual Christmas House Tour of historic homes and landmarks 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Six historic homes and the GWHS campus will be open and decorated for the holidays by local florists. The campus will also feature crafters in all three buildings, a wreath and swag sale, hearth cooking and complimentary refreshments. Dec. 18

The Macungie Minstrelaires will perform a holiday program 6 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center. Please bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to the Zionsville Food Pantry.
