Jerome J. Tyson
Jerome J. "J.J." Tyson, 38, of New Tripoli, died suddenly Nov. 3, 2012, shortly after admission to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was taken after a work accident in Lehigh County.
He and his wife, Melissa M. (Baus) Tyson, were married May 2, 1998.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Randall A. Tyson of Ringtown, Schuylkill County, and Eileen K. Reiss of Whitehall.
A Lutheran, he attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown.
He was the owner and operator of J.T.'s Home Maintenance & Remodeling, New Tripoli for more than six years.
He also was a truck driver with JBC Trucking and a contract operator for the U.S. Postal Service.
Prior to that, he was an instructor of heavy equipment operations at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, Schnecksville.
He was a former member of the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department Fire Police.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters Felicia M. Tyson, Middleburg, Clay County, Fla. and Shelby L. Tyson, at home; son, William S. "Billy" Tyson, also at home; sister Jennifer L., wife of Douglas P. Miller Jr., of Frederica, Del.; grandson, Christopher Lee "CJ" Semmel Jr., Middleburg; two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Nov. 10, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, with the Rev. Jeremiah A. Sassaman officiating.
Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Jerome J. "J.J." Tyson Memorial Fund for William S. "Billy" and Shelby L. Tyson, c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292.
